Fishing with the BOOMSTICK : How to Texas Rig
Texas rigging the Boomstick with a weighted hook has its uses, you’ll have greater control, more precise casts and extra action.
STEP 1 : PLAN OF ATTACK
Since there’s a weight on the belly of the hook, you can’t just slide it through the eye as you would with a non weighted wide gap hook .
Here’s what you want to do!
STEP 2 : SLICE
Cut a vertical slit at the top the boomstick, and and slip the eye hook through.
STEP 3 : MEASURE
Slip the top of the worm just beyond the eye of the jig. Use your thumb to measure where the bait touches the curve of the hook, and keep it there!
STEP 4: BREACH & CLEAR
Now, pierce the plastic where your thumb marked the spot and slide it down until it is as straight as possible.
STEP 5 : BURY THE TIP OF THE HOOK
You’ll want to bury the tip of the hook to make it a weedless jig! Retract the tip and pierce into the topmost fleshy part . This greatly reduces your chances of getting snagged on bottom , obstacles and weeds!
STEP 6: GO FISH!
Now that you’re ready to rock the Boomstick , get out there and wet your line!
